The site is part of a continuous greenway along the river Lyna. Its proximity to the historic town centre makes it a perfect place for the «central park» of Olsztyn, offering a wide range of spaces and possible uses for the inhabitants of the town. The existing 10m level difference at the eastern edge of the park was our starting point to develop the project. We defined a program and the program prescribed different sections for the various functionalities. By merging these sections a complex topography was created: a multifunctional surface. Visual axis towards historic buildings and the town center determined the tree planting. Parameters such as maximum slope (for pedestrians and cyclists) and the shortest possible distance between two destinations within the park defined the path system.
