Casa Green Town is a development covering an area of 320 hectares on the edge of the Bouskoura forest, near Casablanca. Together with three other property developments close by, the area under construction is becoming a new suburb for Casablanca. Casa Green Town includes housing, a golf club, a school, a town centre, horse-riding facilities, a spa centre and a university. As landscape architect working for D PAYSAGE I was working on major public spaces of this development, such as the town center plazas, streetscapes, pedestrian paths, playgrounds, sport facilities and a horse trail. The adjacent Bouskoura forest, the site’s complexe topography and the local climate are all elements that we used to define the landscape design principles. All planting and hardscape materials were inspired by the rich Moroccan culture, but traditional elements have then been given a contemporary expression in order to give Casa Green Town its own signature.
